The Riverland Wine and Food Festival is proudly presented on behalf of the Riverland Wine Industry Development Council, Berri Resort Hotel and Berri Barmera Council. The key objective is to position the region as a premium wine, food and tourism destination in South Australia.

The South Australian Tourism Commission (SATC) is the face of tourism in South Australia and as well as many other things, it is a significant supporter of regional events. The Riverland Wine and Food Festival is one of the events which is supports, providing it with assets and support to ensure it grows and is well resourced.

The Riverland is an Australian powerhouse in wine production and a significant contributor to the South Australian economy. The Berri Barmera Council is located in the Riverland region of South Australia with a population of 11,366 and was formed in 1996 as a result of an amalgamation of the District Council of Barmera and the District Council of Berri. The Council incorporates the townships of Barmera, Berri, Cobdogla, Glossop, Loveday Monash, Overland Corner and Winkie and covers an area of 50,845ha. The region has a well earned reputation for its tourism and outdoor lifestyle and sporting excellence.

The District Council of Loxton Waikerie has a population of approximately 12,000 people with approximately 3,350 residents in the Loxton township and 1,760 residents in the Waikerie township. The main industries which exist within the district are wine, fruit (particularly citrus fruits) vegetables and wheat. The District Council of Loxton Waikerie covers an area of 7,957 square kilometres and shares boundaries with Berri Barmera, Renmark Paringa, Mildura Rural City, Mid Murray, Southern Mallee and Karoonda East Murray Councils. The district is a perfect holiday destination offering long hours of sunshine, a relaxed lifestyle and beautiful views along the Murray River with its sandstone cliffs and tall eucalyptus.

5RM is the Riverland and Mallee’s heritage radio station. Serving the local community for over 85 years, at 5RM (which stands for “River Murray”) the majority of our programming is produced locally in the Riverland. Popular with listeners over the age of 40, the 5RM focus is on the people and communities of our region, our rural industries, local businesses and local events and sport.

Magic 93.1 is the Riverland and Mallee’s Hot Adult Contemporary radio station, broadcasting to a potential audience of around 39,000 people. Magic is all about now, the newest music, the goss’ and the local community.
